Kudrin: Russia’s 5.8% inflation forecast for 2021 too optimistic

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) --  A 5.8% inflation forecast for the end of 2021 is too optimistic, head of the Audit Chamber Alexei Kudrin said on Tuesday.

"Inflation is expected at 5.8% under the official forecast, but it was 5.2% already on October 1. This is why this is more of an optimistic scenario," he said.

Kudrin added that the government must adjust the forecast after making social payments. He admitted that inflation can devalue social support.
